The purpose of the webinar is to share experiences, discuss policy and implementation models that can help accelerate the progress of economic transformation and inclusive growth in South Africa with Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) as one of the catalysts.


Some of the issues that will be discussed include:


  • How economic policy interventions including Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) and others, mutually reinforce one another to ensure meaningful participation for Black People in the economy, ensuring better support for people's livelihoods and well-being?
  • How to coin and implement transformative partnerships to promote inclusive and equitable economic participation?

    Mr. Jacob Maphutha is the Chief Director and Head of the Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment policy in the Department, Trade Industry and Competition. Since joining the public service his area of focus and passion has always been on development and implementation of policies and strategies for the transformation and growth of the South African economy. His main role is to provide strategic direction and guidance on the B-BBEE policy both in the public and private sector of the South African economy. He holds an MBL degree with UNISA School of Business Leadership.
